Barry's Visit to Hallandale Elementary School
Barry visited the students at Hallandale Elementary School in Broward County, Florida in April, 2007. Before Barry arrived, the students read Barry's books and poems and listened to his songs. Each class picked a favorite book, poem or song and decorated their classroom door with artwork and activities inspired by Barry's writing. The students wrote about their favorite foods, their deepest fears, and wrote about what makes them each unique; others made up their own dinosaurs, wrote wordplays and some researched and wrote about unusual animals. Some even wrote and published their own set of funny manners.
